Student Management Teams Increase College Students’ Feelings of Autonomy in the Classroom

摘要: The use of Student Management Teams (SMTs) is a relatively new teaching technique designed to increase students’ motivation and involvement with the planning execution college courses. However, date, little systematic, empirical research has validated effectiveness using SMTs. To test this technique, current utilized pretest–posttest paradigm consisting two courses taught by same professor (both Social Psychology courses). In one course, implemented SMT; other course served as control comparison. Results revealed that students in SMT increased their feelings autonomy relative comparison course. Implications for techniques potential impact on student are discussed.
