摘要: As an alternative fuel biodiesel is becoming increasingly important due to diminishing petroleum reserves and adverse environmental consequences of exhaust gases from petroleum-fuelled engines. Biodiesel, the non-toxic fuel, mono alkyl esters long chain fatty acids derived renewable feedstock like vegetable oils, animal fats residual oils. Choice feedstocks depends on process chemistry, physical chemical characteristics virgin or used oils economy process. Extensive research information available transesterification, production technology optimization for various biomaterials. Consistent supply being faced as a major challenge by industry. This paper reviews physico-chemical properties plant resources that are production. Efforts have also been made review potential can be transformed into successfully meeting ever increasing demand
