Universal scaling in fast quantum quenches in conformal field theories.

摘要: We study the time evolution of a conformal field theory deformed by relevant operator under smooth but fast quantum quench which brings it to point. argue that when scale δt is small compared set coupling, expectation value quenched scales universally as δλ/δt(2Δ-d), where δλ amplitude. This growth further enhanced logarithmic factor in even dimensions. present explicit results for free scalar and fermionic theories, supported an analytic understanding leading contribution quenches. Our suggest this scaling result, first found holography, fact quite general. considerations also show limit quenches different from instantaneous one time-independent Hamiltonian another, state at serves initial condition subsequent with final Hamiltonian.
