摘要: The present review deals with recent developments onsynthesis and characterization of polymer nanocomposites (PNCs) derived fromorgano clay (OCL) selected thermosetting thermoplastic polymers ofindustrial relevance. To compatibilize matrix, clays are modifiedwith organophilic functionalities. modified in this way known asorganoclay (OCL). most popular methods for modification executedthrough their cation exchange quaternary ammonium salts bearing alkyl, vinyl,imidazolium, tallow alkyl Crown ethers alkylsilanes, andzwitterions also reported as modifiers development PNCs. As analternative strategy, functionalized matrixes developed forcompatibilization to produce high performance This strategyalthough is under developing stage , grants potential expectations towards PNCs from both class ofpolymer matrix improved mechanical, thermal, flame retardant barrierapplications.
