摘要: Summary 1.Britain is unusual in the quantity and quality of species habitat data available, at both national regional scales. This paper reviews sources, coverage these data. 2.Habitat are used by conservation agencies England, Scotland Wales for site selection monitoring quality. The argues, however, that neither nor distribution on their own sufficient to locate monitor habitats nature purposes effectively. 3.Differences sampling methodologies between surveys present methodological difficulties development an integrated system uses types data. These problems need be overcome if more effectively wider countryside. 4.A based concept biotope occupancy proposed discussed. implementation would assist with understanding those factors explain observed patterns diversity, thereby helping improve effectiveness policies conservation.
