Modelling of charged particle decay in nitrogen afterglow

摘要: In this paper we extend the available experimental data for breakdown delay times as a function of afterglow time to short pulsed obstructed discharge in nitrogen. Measurements were performed at 6.6 mbar research grade nitrogen by application high-vacuum procedure. The are separated into formative and statistical lags their dependence on is discussed. A model developed that able reproduce behaviour which based ion density decay through diffusion. transition from effective diffusion coefficient free ions observed order 20 ms. was applied both simple approximate analytical form numerical with accurate representation geometry tube. When conjunction our earlier appropriate longer theory can predict between 0.5 ms several hours.
