摘要: Since the first report on regeneration of complete plants from isolated protoplasts (Takebe et al. 1971), tremendous progress has been made and a number crops commercial importance such as potato, tomato, tobacco, rice, linseed, alfalfa, cucumber, eggplant, lettuce Brassica species etc. have routinely regenerated. This paved way for their genetic manipulation. Consequently considerable interest generated in two areas, i.e., culture cereals those trees, large volume information accumulated recently (Table 1). possible reasons, primarily due to upsurge activity plant biotechnology (see Bajaj 1986a), interest, increase workers during last 5 years, advancement vitro technology automation. Moreover, it created awareness agriculture, especially breeders.
