摘要: To increase acceptance of new nuclear power plants (NPPs) by local communities, some countries offer those communities economic incentives. This study analyzes potential residents’ preferences for incentives provided during the construction and operation NPPs in South Korea. uses stated preference data through a discrete choice experiment mixed logit model to reflect heterogeneity respondents’ preferences. The analysis results confirm various incentive types, show that respondents consider distance between NPP residential area as well reduced electricity bills crucial attribute NPPs. In addition, result marginal willingness be near an shows bills, public facilities, increased participation are relatively more effective than job creation or solar panel installation. particular, could greatly improve although it is not direct form financial support. simulation indicate rapidly reduces plant becomes shorter, can change within 0–30% range depending on level Several policy implications suggested policymakers based results.
