In 17 eyes, infective strain used albicans DSM 70010, vitro displayed strong germ-tube formation after 24-hour incubation at 37° C glucose bouillon aqueous humor. Parallel experiments vivo performed on six eyes using CBS 2730, under same conditions, did not show formation. preliminary experiments, individual components yeast intracorneally 2 to differentiate between their effects that full suspension. check progress infection, findings examined slit-lamp microscopy documented photographically daily during first week thereafter every other day from second until end experiment. evaluation criteria adopted size infiltrates ulcers, presence hypopyon, extent reactive corneal vascularization, occurrence descemetocele/corneal perforation. After observation period, killed overdose enucleated.
