摘要: A simple but rigorous analysis of the important sources noise in homodyne detection is presented. Output and signal-to-noise ratios are compared for direct detection, conventional (one-port) homodyning, two-port which one monitors both output ports a 50-50 beam splitter. It shown that homodyning insensitive to local-oscillator quadrature-phase hence provides (1) means detecting reduced fluctuations (squeezing) perhaps more practical than one-port (2) an ratio can be modest significant improvement over detection.
