摘要: Transient methods for overexpressing and silencing plant genes enable rapid analysis of gene function regulation. Several that avoid the traditional time- labor-intensive generation stable transgenic plants have been used recently in soybean other to express or silence genes. In this post-genomic era, sequences genome many crop genomes are readily available. Genome coupled with transient expression systems large-scale screens associate traits, more detailed characterization products regulatory sequences. Recombinant viruses can carry genetic payloads whole fragments provide convenient platforms as vectors soybean. This chapter focuses on seven viral vector overexpression and/or virus-induced (VIGS) applications. We discuss features genomes, strategies their use, applications VIGS, future prospects expand utility improvement.
