摘要: A survey of 108 patients with achalasia treated by cardiomyotomy is reported. All the operations were done abdominal approach and all followed up for a minimum 4 years. Fifty-five had some form hiatal reconstruction, 11 these having formal plastic repair as practised oesophageal reflux problems. At years after operation 71 (65-5 per cent) entirely satisfactory results. Twenty-seven recurrent dysphagia 20 symptoms oesophagitis. The group who hiatus no also better swallowing than other groups. These results suggest that much following Heller's due to occult gastro-oesophageal can be avoided reflux-preventing procedure. Adequate myotomy strongly recommended.
