摘要: ABSTRACT This study investigates the interaction between local community and a state forest in Menagesha Suba area. It explores how is affecting what underlying causes are. The work based on data collected using questionnaire survey, participatory rural appraisal direct measurements. was found that there disagreement managers surrounding, community. As result, illegal interventions like cutting of trees, grazing, farming area are expanding, together retarding development conservation forest. root problem lies expansion 1984 limitation use right since then. Population growth, poverty an unconvincing management style were identified as subsidiary factors exacerbating encroachment. Community participation process may lessen problem.
