摘要: Abstract Guyana is a leading rice producing country in the English Speaking Caribbean. While husk considered as waste milling industries Guyana, it finding useful applications other developing countries. One such application use of its silica rich ash cementitious material for rural building projects. Although wooden houses are popular preliminary study has shown that concrete industry could expand if foreign exchange rate on cement importation be reduced. The potential hush an extender to imported Portland been studied. A survey availability indicated quantities sufficient support industry. prototype incinerator designed with special features burn and capable maintaining bed temperatures range 800 – 900°C. produced amorphous highly reactive when mixed lime water. compressive strength mortars extended 1:1 blend cured 3–28 days ranged between 11.25 20.42 N/mm2. These figures excess 8–31% over mix.
