摘要: In recent years, climate policy analysts have explored the links between consumption patterns and greenhouse gases (GHGs) by developing methods to estimate life-cycle emissions associated with different categories of consumption, e.g., a carbon “footprint” or “consumption-based” GHG inventory. Implicit in many studies is notion that shifts could lead reductions global emissions. For example, if consumers were shift their purchases from particularly GHG-intensive goods services (e.g. red meat) less (e.g., grains legumes) may decline. However, surprisingly few attempted construct long-term scenarios for how behavior reduce this paper, we develop document methodology constructing transition low-GHG consumption. We then apply it major U.S. city, Seattle, Wash., which has been active action planning helped organize over one thousand mayors adopt GHG-reduction goals.
