摘要: Our main goals were to identify diagnostic characters at the species, genus, and subfamily levels, find anatomical features with potential for future morphological molecular (combined) phylogenetic analyses, reconstruct evolution of wood in two subfamilies Primulaceae a framework. We investigated twenty-seven species from woody Myrsinoideae (4 genera) Theophrastoideae (2 using scanning electron, light, epifluorescence microscopy. Samples prepared standard protocols. Based on characters, we able synapomorphies detect evolutionary trends interest genera subfamilies. Both share presence diffuse porosity, simple perforation plates, septate fibres, scanty paratracheal axial parenchyma. have rays > 10 cells wide short (< 350 µm) vessel elements, breakdown areas longer elements. Ardisia Stylogyne scalariform intervessel pits, Myrsine exhibit rays, Cybianthus subgenus Weilgetia distinguishing (e.g., plate C. nemoralis absence densiflorus). Overall, when combining segregate Neotropical each other Maesoideae based anatomy.
