Photoactive Poly(ethylene glycol) Organosilane Films for Site-Specific Protein Immobilization

摘要: We describe the synthesis, characterization, and use of a new photoactive organosilane developed for photoimmobilization proteins. Thin films 2-nitro-5-[11-(trimethoxysilyl)undecyl]oxybenzyl methoxy poly(ethylene glycol) propanoate are characterized using atomic force microscopy, spectroscopic ellipsometry, attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. When this is used to modify silicon substrates, solvent during deposition affects surface concentration morphology resultant film. Although deposited from either aqueous buffer or anhydrous toluene can be attach proteins surfaces, display 4−6 times less nonspecific protein adsorption that those toluene. Modification surfaces with type “rejecting” film should aid in development high-resolution microarrays.
