摘要: First- and second-order wetting transitions are contrasted. A mean-field density-functional model that leads to a transition is introduced. The way in which it differs from an earlier, otherwise similar the first order noted. interfacial line tensions obtained numerically their behavior on approach determined. spatial variation of model’s densities neighborhood contact near also found seen be characteristically different at what first-order transition. results for tension accord with those earlier interface-displacement same phenomena.
