摘要: Summary. The growth and differentiation of post-implantation rat embryos together with their embryonic membranes, when grown in vitro different blood sera, has been assessed by examination the final stage development attained weight protein synthesized. Rat early somite stages develop well to limb bud homologous serum. This medium some advantages over plasma clots. Maximum is obtained 0\m=.\5 1\m=.\0 ml serum/embryo. No advantage gained adding more serum, or transferring fresh serum after a period culture. It immaterial whether from male rats, pregnant non-pregnant females, same individual as other, variety rats other. Heterologous sera are unsatisfactory culture media. Rabbit rapidly lethal embryos, but will support if pre-heated at 56 57\s=deg\C for 30 min. Some samples fowl unless pre-heated, others development.
