Increasing prehospital emergency medical service interventions for nursing home residents

摘要: Summary QUESTION: In the ageing European population, proportion of interventions by emergency medical services (EMS) for elderly patients is increasing, but little known about recent trend EMS in nursing homes. The aim this analysis was to describe evolution incidence requests prehospital home residents aged 65 years and over between 2004 2013. METHODS: A prospective population-based register routinely collected data each intervention Canton Vaud. Linear time trends homes were calculated stratified age categories. RESULTS: number ambulance people (65+) increased 68.9% (1124‒1898) significant linear increase annual per 1,000 found 65–79 (10.2, 95% confidence interval [CI] 6.2–14.2), 80–89 (16.5, CI 14.0–19.0) 90 (12.1, 5.8–18.4). who required an physician during same period 205.6% (from 106 324), representing from 2% 7% all Canton. CONCLUSIONS: Our results confirmed important last decade, far exceeding actual population period. This represents opportunity reconsider missions context society.
