摘要: The evolution of the central nervous system (CNS) resulted in an appearance highly specialised neuronal networks optimised for rapid information transfer. In course this specialisation cells lost their metabolic independence and ability to survive absence homeostatic systems. These systems, represented by neuroglia regulate all aspects CNS function physiological pathological conditions. neurological diseases should be therefore considered as primary gliopathologies, which determine progression outcome neuropathological process. Glial is intimately regulated cellular calcium signalling that underlies specific form "glial excitability". Ca2+ signals are triggered activation multiple receptors, primarily driven release from endoplasmic reticulum. review we summarise role glial various forms processes including psychiatric disorders neurodegeneration.
