摘要: Abstract Recovery of valuable volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from waste streams is great industrial importance. Adsorption on zeolites offers an economically and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional activated carbon. When evaluating the suitability a given zeolite for particular adsorption application, its capacity has be determined. This traditionally achieved using gas chromatography as analysis tool, yielding only few discrete sampling points that constitute profile. Meanwhile, low flow rates concentrations organics can used, rendering procedure troublesome time consuming. Herein, we propose tool fast screening large amount on-line quasi real-time Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The technique was used determine three different commercial two silica gels, five industrially relevant VOCs: acetone; methanol; isohexane; isopentane; toluene. A series rapid measurements individual capacities were carried out obtain detailed overview versatility proposed method characterization multi-component multi-sorption bed systems.
