摘要: A description is given of two new mixers designed to operate in the 80-120-GHz range on 36-ft radio telescope at Kitt Peak, Ariz. It shown that for a hard-driven diode parasitic resistance and capacitance are primary factors influencing design mount. room-temperature mixer described which achieves single-sideband (SSB) conversion loss (L) 5.5 dB, SSB noise temperature (T/sub m/) 500 K (excluding IF contribution) with 1.4-GHz IF. cryogenically cooled version, using quartz structure support chip contact whisker, values L = 5.8 dB T/sub m/ 300 4.75-GHz The use high-quality Schottky-barrier diodes one-quarter-height waveguide
