摘要: Historically, domestic and wild animals have been used as sentinels for human exposure to environmental contaminants, providing an early warning system public health intervention. Since animals, particularly cats dogs, share their (indoor) environment with humans, they can respond or be affected by toxic assaults like owners. Given that, the potential pets act biosentinels of contaminants has explored in many scientific papers. In this chapter, overview literature studies how served effects resulting from several classes (such metals, persistent organic pollutants, flame retardants, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) is reported discussed. The possible links among and/or gaps knowledge research were also investigated. presented indicated that dogs are exposed complex mixtures industrial chemicals. outcomes demonstrated well may serving health, breathe in, ingest, absorb same chemicals our environments.
