Prognostic Factors in Superficial Bladder Tumors. A Study of the European Organization for Research on Treatment of Cancer: Genitourinary Tract Cancer Cooperative Group

摘要: AbstractA randomized clinical trial was performed on 308 patients with stage T1 carcinoma of the bladder to compare efficacy transurethral resection alone or followed by instillations thiotepa VM-26 (teniposide) for 1 year. With recurrence rate as primary end point interest data from this were used assess prognostic importance following factors at entry into study: number tumors, prior rate, tumor size, grade, age, treatment group assigned and, finally, interval between study and start intravesical treatment.Using multivariate statistical techniques we found that tumors presentation most important factor by, in order importance, size largest tumor.
