摘要: Transport and protection of the nuclear-replicating double-stranded DNA genome herpesviruses is accomplished by virion its substructures. Studies composition, organization, formation these particles have provided insight into molecular mechanisms virus assembly, leads for antiviral strategies, information about cellular processes that are required for, resemble, or antagonize replication. This chapter updates earlier reviews on structure human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) virions (Gibson 1996, 2006; Eickmann et al. 2006), complements several other herpesvirus replication presented in this volume (see chapters E. Murphy T. Shenk, Z. Ruzsics U. Koszinowski, R. Kalejta, G.S. Pari) elsewhere (Rixon 1993; Steven Spear 1997; Brown 2002; Varnum 2004; Liu Zhou 2007).
