摘要: Lean manufacturing may be applied predominantly in the environment, however it is aptly applicable to service industry as well. 5S considered a tool of lean reduces waste and adds value process. It combined with other tools such Kanban, Kaizen, total preventive maintenance, quality management addressing pertinent issues workplace. Thus managers' face increased pressure improve performance within their organisations. Performance “buzzword,” including national international competition. In order accomplish this objective decreasing workforce, managers are empowering employees take responsibility on productivity performance. By creating workplace that conducive achieve performance, consideration health safety, work design productivity, implementation 5-S principles can become one sustainable competitive advantages industry. The study highlight many organisations, both service, lose millions rands form regular basis.
