摘要: Determining the predictors of serum retinol at mid-pregnancy is relevant for planning interventions aimed improving vitamin A status pregnant women and their offspring. This prospective study assessed beginning third trimester pregnancy. We enrolled 442 living in urban area Cruzeiro do Sul, Western Brazilian Amazon. Demographic, socio-economic, environmental clinical characteristics as well obstetric history, anthropometric, dietary biochemical data, including retinol, were gathered between 16 20 gestational weeks. Serum also measured pregnancy (approximately 28 weeks) was outcome interest. Multiple linear regression models used to evaluate associations with outcome. Overall, following variables explained adjusted model (R 2 = 11·1 %): seasonality (winter season - November April; β=0·134; 95 % CI 0·063, 0·206), weekly consumption Amazonian fruits (β=0·087; 0·012, 0·162) concentrations weeks (β=0·045; 0·016, 0·074) positively associated, whereas having a smoker house negatively associated (β=-0·087; CI: -0·166, -0·009). Consumption pro-vitamin A-rich by should be encouraged. Passive smoking may play role decreasing proxy exposure during
