摘要: Abstract 11 volunteer subjects with advanced chronic periodontitis participated in a 1-year longitudinal clinical and microbiological study. Subgingival plaque was collected at each of 7 visits from 148 pre-selected sites the left jaw quadrants (test sites) on first last visits, only 117 right (control sites). All were examined clinically markers investigated % spirochaetes black pigmented Bacteroides species subgingival plaque. At completion study, sequential changes probing attachment level site subjected to regression analysis determine direction extent change. Possible correlations between change or black-pigmented bacteroides using both individual subjects. No significant differences observed either microbial variables test control sites. baseline, 12-month visit data accumulated over all visits. Significant when significantly lower showing greatest improvement level. Overall, these results indicate that quantification cannot be used reliably identify predict disease-active
