摘要: Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) remains a serious international public health threat. With the goal of accelerating development countermeasures against MERS coronavirus (MERS-CoV), funding agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and researchers across world assembled in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 14-15, 2015, to discuss vaccine challenges. The meeting was spearheaded by Ministry Health co-organized International Vaccine Institute, South Korea. Accelerating preventive requires better understanding epidemiology, transmission, pathogenesis humans animals. A combination rodent nonhuman primate models should be considered evaluating developing therapeutic candidates. Dromedary camels for veterinary vaccines. Several technology platforms targeting MERS-CoV spike protein were discussed. Mechanisms maximize investment, provide robust data, affect are urgently needed.
