摘要: For spin-polarized low-energy electrons diffracted from ferromagnetic Ni(001), the exchange-and spin-orbit-induced scattering asymmetries Aex and Aso of two beams have been simultaneously measured at T = 300 K 520 for several constant energies as functions polar angle incidence. Corresponding “rocking curves” calculated by dynamical theory are in generally good agreement with data. Analysis shows firstly that an energy-dependent exchange approximation is adequate, secondly topmost interlayer spacing essentially bulk-like a possible slight outward relaxation (1%), thirdly 3p → 3d excitation significant. From following magnetic information obtained: The surface magnetization such to imply, via extrapolation mean field theory, 0 value slightly enhanced (by + 5% ± 5%) respect bulk magnetization. spin localized uniform inelastic processes very small, leading, incident electron energy 69 89 eV, combined inverse free path asymmetry less than 0.3%.
