摘要: The human dimension of the Columbian Exchange entailed substantial genetic admixture between ancestral source populations from Africa, Americas and Europe, which had evolved separately for many thousands years. We sought to address implications creation admixed American genomes, containing novel allelic combinations, health fitness via analysis an Colombian population Medellin. genomes Medellin show a wide range three-way contributions populations. primary ancestry component is European (average = 74.6%, range = 45.0%–96.7%), followed by Native (average = 18.1%, range = 2.1%–33.3%) African (average = 7.3%, range = 0.2%–38.6%). Locus-specific patterns were evaluated search genomic regions that are enriched across particular contributions. Adaptive innate immune system related genes pathways particularly over-represented among ancestry-enriched segments, including (HLA-B MAPK10) involved in defense against endemic pathogens such as malaria. Genes encode functions skin pigmentation (SCL4A5) cutaneous glands (EDAR) also found with anomalous patterns. These results suggest possibility ancestry-specific loci differentially retained modern based on their utility New World environment.
