摘要: The Sava Zone of the northern Dinarides is part Cenozoic Adria‐Europe plate boundary. Here Late Cretaceous subduction remnants Meliata‐Vardaroceanic lithosphere led to formation a suture, across which upper European‐derived units Tisza‐Dacia were juxtaposed with Adria‐derived Dinarides. siliciclastic sediments, deposited on Adriatic plate, incorporated into an accretionary wedge that evolved during initial stages continent‐continent collision. Structurally deeper parts exposed underwent amphibolite‐grade metamorphism. Grt‐Pl‐ Ms‐Bt thermobarometry and multiphase equilibria indicate temperatures between 550°C 630°C and pressures 5 7 kbar for this event. Peak metamorphic conditions reached at around 65 Ma. Relatively slow cooling from peak throughout most Paleogene was possibly induced by hanging wall erosion in conjunction southwest directed propagation thrusting Accelerated took place Miocene times, when substantial extension exhumation metamorphosed along low‐angle detachment. Footwall started under greenschist facies associated top‐to‐the‐north tectonic transport, indicating below European units. Extension postdates emplacement 27 Ma old granitoid solid‐state deformation conditions. 40Ar/39Ar sericite zircon apatite fission track ages footwall allow bracketing extensional unroofing 25 14Ma. This hence linked Miocene rift‐related subsidence Pannonian basin, represents back‐arc basin formed due rollback Carpathians.
