Influence of duty cycle on the structure and electrocatalytic properties of pulse electrodeposited lead dioxide electrodes

摘要: In this work, PbO2 electrodes were prepared by pulse electrodeposition in the lead nitrate plating bath. Effects of duty cycle on morphology and phase structure investigated scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The SEM XRD results show that decrease cycles decreases grain size electrodes. steady-state polarization curves accelerated life tests demonstrate oxygen evolution overpotential service increase with cycle, at 20 % possess highest life, reaches 71 h which is almost two times longer than direct electrodeposition. bulk electrolysis shows methyl orange (MO) degradation pseudo-first-order reaction chemical demand MO removal can be attributed to higher overpotentials electrochemical active surface area
