摘要: AbstractCarbonic anhydrases (CAs, EC 4.2.1.1) catalyze the CO2 hydration/dehydration reversible reaction: CO2 + H2O ⇄  + H+. Living organisms encode for at least six distinct genetic families of such catalyst, α-, β-, γ-, δ-, ζ- and η-CAs. The main function CAs is to quickly process derived by metabolic processes in order regulate acid-base homeostasis, connected production protons (H+) bicarbonate. Few data are available literature on Antarctic most scientific information regards isolated from mammals or prokaryotes (as well as other mesophilic sources). It great interest study biochemical behavior catalysts identified organism living sea where temperatures average −1.9 °C all year round. enzymes represent a useful tool relations among structure, stability proteins adapted constantly low temperatures.
