摘要: Background Wound healing is a goal for advanced technology in the surgical space to benefit clinical outcomes. Surgical staplers are commonly used variety of open and minimally invasive abdominal thoracic procedures. Assessment wound traits, such as perfusion, has been challenging due technical limitations. A novel technique that utilizes micro-computed tomography methodology measure perfusion was designed compare micro-perfusion staple lines between commercial stapler reloads employ different height strategies. Materials methods Following an Institutional Animal Care Use Committee-approved protocol, rats were euthanized immediately heparinized prior subtotal gastrectomy with either graduated-height or single-height staples. Rats then perfused barium, following which stomachs removed fixed formalin prevent degradation. Stomachs imaged using subsequent analysis utilized quantify fluid volume patent vasculature proximity staples within line region each group. Results Average significantly higher (0.33% ± 0.18%) compared (0.16% 0.09%, P=0.011). vessel-to-staple distance not significant but trended lower (0.35±0.02 mm) (0.36±0.03 mm, P=0.18). Discussion Graduated-height had than staples, likely downstream on Conclusion This study shows around this may contribute better patients.
