摘要: Overharvesting and loss of habitat arising from human activities are the most important threats to plants animals. Conservation efforts targeting medicinal plant species usually focus on endemic, economic endangered taxa, typically Plant Species with Extremely Small Populations (PSESP) under high extinction risk. However, comparatively little attention has been focused traditional widespread distribution, although some these species, where whole or tubers raw materials for medicines, may be edge local extinction. In this study, we appeal conservationists pay close threatened species. To end, a plant, Stemona tuberosa, which distribution that covers more than ten countries in Asia, is studied detail. The results suggest destructive overharvesting underground tuberous roots S. tuberosa key threat addition, pollination limitation, potential seed dispersers, loss, scattered pattern further reduce survival chances tuberosa. Through multidisciplinary conservation conducted by researchers resident, witnessed preliminary recovery locations it reintroduced. We think should not overlooked field conservation. Local participation natural resource management help make resources relevant locally hence sustainable remote regions. developing multi-stakeholder coalitions encouraged save underdeveloped areas.
