Optical Properties of Vanadium Oxide/Cellulose Triacetate Photochromic Films

摘要: The properties of polymer-based nanocomposites strongly depend on the fillers added and their dispersion matrix. Proposing a simple method that can control these variables is essential to obtain with enhanced properties. In this study, cellulose triacetate based modified sol-gel synthesised vanadium oxide nanoparticles (V2O5) poly(ethylene oxide-b-propylene oxide-b-ethylene oxide) (PEO-b-PPO-b-PEO or EPE) triblock copolymer were obtained by two methods: solvent casting (SC, drying at ambient conditions) vapour annealing (SVA, under atmosphere). Nanocomposites characterised Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) UV-vis spectroscopy. presented green colour high transparency, improving SVA surface finish films. Moreover, V2O5 provided switchable photochromic properties, changing film from pale blue when exposed UV radiation. EPE more noticeable change. As for speed recovery process initial state, it increased addition content. Thus, was proved preparation appropriate SC, as well corroborate content affected developed CTA nanocomposites.
