HYDROCHEMICAL QUALITY OF GROUNDWATER IN URBAN AREAS OF SOUTH PORTUGAL

摘要: This investigation of urban groundwater problems in the city Evora is one first Portugal, its main objective being to develop a hydrochemical knowledge city’s groundwater. Thirteen water points, represented by 7 large diameter wells and 6 deep wells, were selected for sampling. The major ions analysed, as well temperature, EC, pH total hardness. results show that most waters are HCO3-Mg-Ca-Na type, but some samples Cl type clearly Cl-Na type. EC varies between 230 2500 μS/cm. nitrate content 0.5 310 mg/L, over 50 % exceed 25 mg/L maximum recommended Portuguese Law. absolute permitted also exceeded 30 samples. When compared with quality elsewhere Alentejo, high terms nitrates chlorides. chlorides may be an indication contamination.
