摘要: Abstract Molecular weight calculations from sedimentation velocity data require knowledge of shape, hydration, and density the macromolecules. Reasonable values shape hydration for low-density serum lipoproteins are currently available. Uncertainty calculated molecular weights resides mainly in uncertainty lipoprotein density, especially if solution is close to that molecules. By simple expedient using high-density salt solutions (1.4–1.5 gm/ml) float lipoproteins, one can virtually eliminate a given density. This paper describes high-salt flotation (HSF) technique lowdensity calculation such data.
