摘要: There is currently intense research into extreme value fluctuations (optical rogue waves) in long pulse fibre supercontinuum (SC) generation [1]. This interest motivated by the possibility to obtain important insights related hydrodynamic instabilities, as well potential applications generating stable SC [2]. Optical waves are generated under conditions where broadening develops from initial spontaneous modulation instability. Following appearance of a noise-driven temporal on input pulse, large number distinct solitons emerge, small which undergo Raman frequency shifts longer wavelengths. Although this suggests that scattering plays central role their formation through inelastic energy exchange [3], here we revisit dynamics optical wave terms well-known soliton turbulence description play statistical attractors any non-integrable nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLSE) model [4]. Specifically, show unnecessary for pulses emerge generation, and third-order dispersion its own sufficient stimulate single distance limit. An additional novel result undergoes continuous shift wavelengths with propagation interaction turbulent background, even absence scattering.
