摘要: ABSCISIN II is a recently discovered1,2 plant hormone which appears to inhibit the action of auxins, gibberellins and kinins3. Its structure4 (I) contains one centre asymmetry, comparison its properties with those synthetic5 (±)-abscisin suggested that natural substance single enantiomorph. We have now measured optical rotatory dispersion abscisin from sycamore leaves2, find this source dextro-rotatory exhibits very intense positive Cotton effect extrema at 287 mµ ([α] + 24,000°) 245 − 69,000°):
