摘要: Objective To determine the level of expression selected matrix metalloproteinases in uterine leiomyoma compared with unaffected myometrium an effort to explain abnormal accumulation extracellular leiomyoma. Methods The levels metalloproteinase (MMP) mRNA and were measured samples from 22 patients during either proliferative (n = 6) or secretory phases 16) menstrual cycle. Relative amounts collagenase (MMP-1) stromelysin (MMP-3) mRNAs by Northern blot analysis, 3 (MMP-11) matrilysin (MMP-7) each sample determined semiquantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) normalized beta-actin mRNA. Results MMP-1 MMP-3 similar both myometrium. MMP-11 twofold greater throughout cycle, differences significantly different phase. MMP-7 was leiomyoma, myometrium, endometrium. Conclusions Among examined this study, only elevated increased is analagous previously reported elevations dermatofibromas skin. fibroid tumors suggests that MMP may be involved formation a more fibrous relative
