摘要: Temporal patterns within complex sound signals, such as music, are not merely processed after they heard. We also focus attention to upcoming points in time aid perception, contingent upon regularities we perceive the sounds’ inherent rhythms. Such organized predictions endogenously maintained meter— patterning of sounds into hierarchical timing levels that manifest strongand weakevents. Models neural oscillations provide potential means for how meter could arise brain, but little evidence dynamic activity has been offered. To this end, conducted a study instructing participants imagine two-based or three-based metric over identical, equally-spaced while recorded electroencephalogram (EEG). In pattern, multivariate analysis EEG showed contrasting between strong and weak events delta (2–4 Hz) alpha (9–14 Hz), frequency bands, theta (4–9 beta (16–24 bands contrasted two hierarchically weaker events. patterns, did drastically differ suggest findings reflect activation suppression responsible shaping perception through time.
