摘要: Abstract Magnesium is an accepted drug in the management of toxemia pregnancy, and employed by many physicians as anticonvulsant agent choice therapy this commonly encountered gestational disease. Many modes administration variable dosage schedules have been evolved over past half century, ranging from small quantities given orally to relatively large amounts introduced parenteral route. In a recent study conducted at University Virginia Hospital, 5 it was suggested that prompt, rapidly attained, effective magnesium blood levels (7 8 mEq. per liter) could best be effected introducing intravenously. Therefore, during last 30 months, pre-eclamptic eclamptic patients admitted Obstetric Gynecologic Service Hospital received intravenously high dosages. Clinical observations carried out our labor delivery suites have, however, impression intravenous sulfate, sufficient concentration, results prolongation labor. Inasmuch utilized sedative drugs morphine, meperidine, phenobarbital used seemingly exonerated direct uterine depressant activity, 14 since only departure customary therapeutic regimen months previously elevation serum level, appeared probable that, if were truth prolonged these patients, ion human myometrium It attempt clarify point present undertaken.
