摘要: Recently, there has been increased attention to concussions that occur during sports activities, both at school level or amateur and professional level. Concussion is defined as a sudden transient alteration of consciousness induced by traumatic biomechanical forces transmitted directly indirectly the brain. Such injuries most commonly in contact such boxing, football, soccer, wrestling, hockey, among others. should be suspected any athlete who suffers head injury, whether not it associated loss consciousness. These athletes return their activities immediately, few days mental physical leave are recommended order ensure full recovery. Repeat avoided, since evidence some they can lead chronic encephalopathy. The present review focuses on different definitions concussion, management long-term consequences. It also contains Spanish version Sport Assessment Tool 2 (SCAT2).
