摘要: Abstract We present the 3D crustal and lithospheric structure average density distribution of southern Indian shield (south 18°N), Sri Lanka adjoining oceans. The model is based on assumption local isostatic equilibrium derived from joint inversion free air gravity geoid anomalies topography data. thickness 10–25 km in oceanic region increases to 34–35 km along coast. A 34–38 km obtained beneath Eastern Dharwar Craton 36–45 km Western Southern Granulite Terrain. has a thinner crust 30–35 km. lithosphere–asthenosphere boundary located at depths 70–120 km under regions ∼150–180 km below Northern block notably thinned lithosphere ∼130 km near Bangalore Craton, ∼140 km Terrain observed. (∼130 km) inferred as frozen signature small fossil mantle plume and/or tectono-compositional effect rifted margin suture. Considerable stretching convective removal pristine Lanka, before disappearing completely Archaean suggested.
