摘要: Although substantial progress has been made over the past 40 years in treating patients with cancer, effective therapies for those who are diagnosed advanced metastatic disease still few and far between. Cancer cells do not exist isolation: rather, they within a complex microenvironment composed of stromal extracellular matrix. Within this tumour exists an interplay between two main cell subtypes, cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) immune cells, that important controlling metastasis. A network paracrine signalling pathways CAFs, involved at multiple stages process, from invasion intravasation primary site to extravasation colonisation site. Heterogeneity plasticity populations also contribute complexity. many these processes likely be common number sites, we will describe detail liver, preferred metastasis tumours. greater understanding networks provides opportunities design new therapeutic approaches targeting disease.
