摘要: This paper presents the experimental results obtained from study of two similar cylindrical water tanks. One tanks was directly fixed to earthquake simulator, other mounted on base a scaled nine‐story steel structure. The structure isolated eight multilayered elastomeric bearings. Due reduction in ground accelerations, dynamic pressure is reduced for tank Free‐surface elevation slightly increased due lower frequency that characterizes motion base‐isolated structures. problem can be overcome by appropriate selection isolation system or addition dampers at location maximum particle velocities. A theoretical solution developed linear wave theory correlates very well with results. Further carried out investigate advantages using large storage
