Effect of upper extremity exercise and respiratory training on the quality of life in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Velayat Hospital, Qazvin, Iran

摘要: Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major public health challenge and also the leading cause of death in world. Evidences indicate that this ranking will be rising from 4th to 3rd until 2020. Objective: The purpose study was compare effect upper extremity exercise and respiratory training on quality life patients with COPD. Methods: This randomized clinical trial conducted Velayat Hospital Qazvin COPD patients (n=75) 2017. After dividing participants into three groups (n=25), demographic information and St George’s questionnaire were completed. extremity exercise group attended 12 sessions respiratory received respiratory trainings for one month, as well. Data analyzed by independent t-test, one-wayANOVA test, Paired t-test. Findings: had higher than respiratory training (P=0.001). Conclusion: Upper exercises have been effective increasing these patients. Therefore it can be used supplementary non-drug therapy.
